Celebrating the fusion of Furniture and Fashion
A charity event benefitting Kids Kicking Cancer

Hillside Furniture, Michigan's largest contemporary furniture specialist and Paulina BH, a leading clothing designer and owner of a fashion boutique in downtown Birmingham are coming together for one special night, Saturday May 21st for a unique charity event celebrating the fusion of style trends in fashion and furniture.

The Metro-Detroit branch of Kids Kicking Cancer provides programs and events for children ages 3-21 in treatment for cancer. Through these programs, the children can rebuild their confidence and self-esteem during treatment.

The event, which will take place from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM on Saturday May, 21st 2011, will have a full fashion show, complete with a full runway, lighting, and models. The show will also feature furniture vignettes from Hillside Furniture, exhibiting contemporary furniture collections with current color and texture trends, incorporating couture made by Paulina BH and made from the same fabrics and other materials from the furniture.

"I have always felt the furniture and fashion industries have evolved hand in hand," said Jeff Selik, President of Hillside Contemporary Furniture. "We have seen how the trends in both industries can influence each other when it comes to colors, textures, or materials. We have seen this "evolution" captured on film through the years, but for those who really don't understand how furniture is simply couture for the home, by attending this unique event, they will."

Following the fashion show, there will be a silent auction for furniture and couture featured in the show. We are committed to proceeds from the auction to be donated to Kids Kicking Cancer.
